War

We here in Israel are engaged in yet another war. The military aspects seem to be coming to a close as the IDF has destroyed most of the Hamas rocket launchers, their leadership, and even much of the underground bunker tunnels ("The Metro").
Yet there are many other aspects of the warfare. Even more problematic is the unrest and distrust between Arabs and Jews living within Israel. Co-existence had been improving significantly recently, but unfortunately violence and anger tend to breed more violence and anger.
Some voices have called for a re-engagement dialogue, including Israel MK Mansour Abbas, head of an Islamic Brotherhood-based party, who has said we need to calm the incitement and continue to learn how to work together in the government.
There is another aspect or level of battle: within Israel in the media. Jewish television news reporters are very split on how to report the events, let alone on what should be done about them. Many news panels end up with emotions flaring and reporters shouting.
And that leads to yet another level: international media and international diplomacy. Most Israelis feel shocked that what is reported or discussed both in media and diplomatic circles is so twisted and poisoned against Israel.
And that leads to yet another level: the minds and hearts of people around the world. II Corinthians 10:3-5 speaks of a spiritual warfare without military weapons that has to do with breaking down lies, wrong thinking, prideful attitudes, etc. This is an aspect of warfare that you and I can pray to influence.
And lastly there is the warfare between good and bad angels, as described in Revelation 12:7-8. Thank God, there are more good angels than evil ones. And God's side ultimately wins out.
We need a greater understanding of God's sovereign hand during military conflict. The first great praise event of the Bible, after the parting of the Red Sea, describes YHVH as a Man of War (Exodus 15:3). And throughout the Scriptures, He is called YHVH of Armies, Adonai Tsevaot, ה' צבאות (Psalm 24:8-10).
The situations are incredibly complicated and confusing. Yet during the times of war and difficulty, God's judgment and justice are often displayed. Undeniably, conflict exists; and conflict will become more intense as we enter more into the end times.
May the Lord keep you strong and encouraged.
In Yeshua's love
