Testimonies

  • Charlie Kirk’s influence reached even the hills of Jerusalem where just days after his murder we baptized “L” (a young lady). She was a typical secular Israeli in her humanistic perspectives, but her opinions began to change during her own soul searching… and watching of Kirk’s videos: Maybe the humanistic worldview was not as sound as she thought? Her journey of faith led her to our community. Pray for “L,” and for her brother and sister to see the Lord in her and come to faith in Yeshua as well!

  • A hostage newly freed from Gaza said that he felt incredibly close to God when in captivity. While starving in the dark tunnels, he began to talk to God and feel His presence. He felt it so much that he had some level of regret after getting out of captivity and not feeling God as closely! Do you realize that YOUR prayers helped enable this captive Israeli and others to feel the presence of God?

Prayer Requests!

  • Pray for a change in Gaza leadership that allows for the Gospel to enter and a new generation to be raised without hate.

  • Pray for the newly-launched homegroup – for people to commit at a deep heart level to be a community, for openness and for the power of the spirit.

Completing Nehemiah’s Work?

Nehemiah saw the state of Jerusalem, and his heart broke.

They said to me, The remnant who have survived the captivity there in the province are in great distress and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates have been burned with fire. Upon hearing these words I sat down and wept and mourned for days. I prayed and fasted before the God of heaven.

He had a vision to repair the breaches in the walls and to reestablish the community of God in Jerusalem in safety and joy. His vision was so compelling that all the people worked from dawn until night! His vision was so compelling that the people worked even under danger of attack – with a tool in one hand and a weapon in the other. His vision was so compelling that even with all the trials, the wall was built in 52 days! (Nehemiah 6:15)

While reading Nehemiah as part of my regular quiet time, I was struck by a thought from the Lord … regarding a parallel to the modern nation of Israel. We have some military protection from enemy nations and terrorists. Yet I felt deep in my spirit that we still have not rebuilt the spiritual walls of Jerusalem. In the spiritual realm, Jerusalem is still wide open to demonic attack! We want Jerusalem to be a praise in all of the earth, but it must be rebuilt spiritually… from within!

Ahavat Yeshua is a part of that. We are pursuing a community which will be an engine for evangelism, discipleship, and community living that continues to gather strength all the way into the tribulation and until the return of Yeshua. To cultivate qualified, ordained Hebrew speaking elders and deacons to oversee the flock. To encourage other congregations to fulfill their God-given destiny as well. Ahavat Yeshua is not the whole Body in Jerusalem, but I believe God wants to use us to help show what a thriving, indigenous, spirit-empowered community can look like. It looks like the book of Acts!
