In the Midst of War and Storm

Harvest of Asher

Akko, Israel

In spite of the remarkable Israeli victories, these are also difficult and uncertain days when all around the globe we must remember this powerful truth:

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

It’s not poetry — it’s spiritual reality. Even in war, the God of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. He sees, hears, and defends. He walks with us through the fire.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

In the Midst of the Storm

There is no denying the heaviness. Families have been separated. Lives have been lost. People are weary. Some may even ask: “Where is God in all of this?” But Scripture reminds us that God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), AND He works even in times of shaking to reveal His glory and bring redemption.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “Plans for peace and not for evil — to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).

This promise was given to Israel in exile, in one of her darkest hours. God is not limited by war, disaster, or fear. His plans for you are still alive.

Yeshua, Our High Priest, Understands

Our Redeemer is not distant. He walked among us. He suffered with us. Our Rescuer-King understands what it means to carry grief, fear, and sorrow.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.” (Isaiah 53:3)

In the garden of Gethsemane, just before the cross, He sweat drops of blood and said: “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death” (Mark 14:34).

So if your soul is trembling today, know this: Yeshua has been there. He does not condemn your fear. He carries you through it. He is your refuge, your Shepherd, your Prince of Peace.

We do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tempted in every way, just as we are — yet was without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)

Hope That Cannot Be Shaken

As believers in Messiah, we do not hide from reality. We face pain, loss, and struggle. But we also carry something the world cannot give — a hope that cannot be shaken.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” (Hebrews 6:19)

This hope is not in governments. Not in armies. Our hope is in the God of Israel, and in His Anointed One, Yeshua. Through Him, we know that even death is not the end. Redemption is near. Victory is assured.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed… these things must happen… and then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” (Mark 13:7, 26)

Yeshua will return. He will make all things new. He will reign from Jerusalem. The nations will no longer learn war. Until then, we are His light in the darkness.

Called to Stand, to Shine, and to Pray

Beloved, now is the time to stand in faith, not shrink back. To shine the light of Messiah, not curse the darkness. To pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for protection over the land, and hearts to return to the One who saves. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” (Romans 12:12)

Let’s be faithful watchmen on the walls.
