“O Jerusalem” was birthed in a place of prayer and awakening to the longing of God’s heart for Jerusalem and Israel. Based on Psalm 137, Isaiah 62 and Isaiah 40, this song weaves together scripture passages that stirs a longing for God’s promises to Israel and His people to be fulfilled.
Recorded live from the rooftop of Succat Hallel, our dear Sarah Gerloff (Tikkun Global) was part of this beautiful recording project by For Glory & For Beauty (joined by the prayer community Burning Hearts SG). Gathering worshippers from different nations to sing over Jerusalem, we joined together as the one new man singing in English and Hebrew, lifting up our hearts to the Lord in worship.
The song was released in conjunction with the Isaiah 62 fast, joining with 5 million people all over the earth contending for God to raise up watchmen on the walls “until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth”.
We pray that this song would bless and awaken the hearts of many to God’s longing for His people and to see His desires for Israel be fulfilled in our generation and beyond. May it add fuel to the fire of intercession being lifted up across the nations of the earth for the apple of His eye.
