Ahavat Yeshua
Jerusalem

Imagine a random person showing up on your doorstep trying to give you something. You don’t know who he is or where he is from. He is peddling something you are very unsure you want, and don’t know whether to trust what he is saying…
And then imagine the same situation. However, the person is not giving you an unwanted item, but rather bringing something you crave. And instead of having no idea where he is from, you recognize that he comes from a reputable place. Are you thinking about a pizza delivery guy also?! Funny thing, the name for that random pizza delivery guy in Hebrew is “shaliach” – the same word used in the Bible for an apostle!
If you know the source and can trust it, then even a random pizza delivery guy can show up bringing food that you will joyfully receive.
So Yeshua said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:21-22)
Yeshua was sent from the ultimate trusted source, God the Father. He might have come in an unexpected way, and He was definitely offering some radical ideas (e.g. the Sermon on the Mount, deliverance ministry, etc.), but He came from the Father with something we all need and want. He was sent as fulfillment of all that we knew from the prophets.
In the same way that Yeshua was sent by the Father, we are sent by Yeshua. We have His Holy Spirit and are no longer random people peddling our own personal thoughts and opinions. God also established local congregational communities in which we root ourselves and are sent from them as well. We are not random vagabonds. We are “sent from” the most trusted source.
To whom have you been sent?
In which community are you rootand continued through midnight… then went to an upper room and continued until 6:00 AM! This was a time to pursue outpouring of the Holy Spirit, unity, and breakthrough in Jerusalem!
ed?
Are there people waiting for you to share the Kingdom message with them?
What talents did God equip you with to bless others?
We are “sent from”…
Let’s take that seriously!
