Tents of Mercy is a Messianic ministry in the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Yam. As a spiritual community for Israelis of all backgrounds, their heart is to raise the banner of worship and shine the light of the gospel here in the heart of the Haifa Bay. Their humanitarian aid center has been providing practical aid and support to the week and needy in their area for almost thirty years and has become a prominent and trusted resource to the local municipality and the neighboring cities as well.
Since the war broke out on October 7th, so many new needs have arisen! One of the most urgent tasks is to support the soldiers and their families in their community, and then to reach out to units that contact them with requests. With the sheer numbers of reserve duty soldiers, over 400,000, the needs are great and growing. They are committed to being a bridge of help to all the families and units connected to them.
Here are the ways they are stepping up to bridge the gap in prayer and provision:
Purchasing and distributing personal and tactical supplies for soldiers on the northern and southern borders: undergarments, personal hygiene products, meat jerky and coffee, rain gear, coats, tents and mattresses, and *ceramic vests, tactical helmets and tactical clothing and gear
Providing hot meals for soldiers
Helping displaced families with the purchase of storage cabinets and electronics in their temporary housing facilities
Assisting local small businesses affected by the war
Renovating local bomb shelters together with the Kiryat Yam municipality
Distributing high quality CPR and first aid kits to the military and private sector
Volunteering in the agricultural sector
Volunteering in activity and logistics capacities for and visiting displaced Israelis
The next steps for the country will be critical, and they are praying and standing ready to see how to continue to support to those in need in their local community or assist with new needs created by the devastations of war. They solicit your support in prayer and finances as they shine the light of Yeshua’s love in practical ways to their people!
Through it all, they continue to look ahead with faith and hope and pray with steadfast urgency for the return of the captives from Gaza and the end of the war!
