Watchmen on the Walls

Updated: Oct 18, 2021

Dear Watchmen on the *walls,

Thank you for your faithfulness in continuing to pray “on the walls” and defend Akko, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and all of Israel.

Here in Israel we have witnessed in these last few days, darkness and the shadow of death which have overcome hope for many. This destruction has affected the children of both peoples in this land: Jewish and Arab.

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.” (Isaiah 9:2)

I myself grew up in the mixed Arab/Jewish city of Akko.

Over the last week or so, mixed cities like Akko have found themselves in a situation where neighbors are throwing rocks at each other (whereas most of the time they coexist with remarkable success). People are casting off restraint. Especially the young Arabs suddenly feel that they can do almost anything they want, to Jews and Jewish property.

Right now the citizens living in these cities are in despair. How did this start? This time it started in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount.

When people try to own Jerusalem with their physical and emotional strength, from their own perspective and according to their own ideology; this is what happens.

When Yeshua looked toward Jerusalem and saw its destruction, He perceived the motivation of people's hearts. When Yeshua talked with the Samaritan woman, He told her the most important thing was not the place where we worship, but how we worship - in Spirit and in Truth. Only with His light inside of us can the darkness be dispelled. Only then will mankind walk out from under the shadow of death into the Kingdom of God.

Until then may His Kingdom come and His Will be done. Let us take up our positions in prayer and intercession, on our knees, worshipping He who is The Light.

PRAYER ALERTS & UPDATES

Please continue to pray for all the people of Israel; from the North to the South.

Pray for the people of Gaza; pray that God would deliver them from the oppression of Hamas.

Pray for mixed cities such as Akko and the protection of their residents.

Please pray for God's protection over those members of the congregations who live in neighborhoods where there has been violence this past week.

Pray also for all of Israel's soldiers. May those who are believers in Yeshua show forth His light in all situations.

Your prayers for us during these challenging times do not go unnoticed. Pray that our spirit man will not be affected negatively from the challenges we are facing. Pray that we will continue to reflect the compassion and love of God; in spite of complicated emotions, and in every situation.

We pray that God will direct your prayers and that all of us will pray the Heart of God into all situations.

Please keep M. from our extended family in your prayers. May God heal her spine and any vascular problems with her legs.

*As some of you know, the IDF has called this defensive military operation against Hamas “Guardian of the Walls.” Even though the generals might not have known it, they were invoking Isaiah 62:6.
