Shavuot
The“appointed time” of Shavuot is better known as Pentecost, or the day the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Apostles as they waited in Jerusalem, as instructed by Yeshua. In Simon Peter’s explanation of the event, he quotes one of Joel’s prophecies where the Lord says that He will pour out His Spirit “on all flesh.” The full scope of this prophecy has yet to be fulfilled, therefore we continue to gather on this day in earnest expectation of its final and complete fulfillment in these last days.
On All Flesh
In that moment, when the disciples and those gathered with them began to speak in tongues and to prophesy, the bewildered onlookers supposed them to be drunk. But Simon Peter received a revelation through the Holy Spirit that what they were experiencing was not only the fulfillment of Yeshua’s promise, but also that it had already been foretold by the prophets of old.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.” (Joel 2:28)

While at that time the disciples believed that they would soon witness Yeshua’s return, we know that this was only the beginning of God’s end-time plans. And while we don’t know exactly where we are in that timeline, we believe that the world has yet to witness the complete fulfillment of Joel 2:28, a global outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all flesh.
Another Prophetic Pattern
What led up to the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit, was a combination of the disciples gathering in one heart, extended prayer, and obedience to Yeshua’s command to wait in Jerusalem until they were “endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49). We believe that in following this pattern of praying all night in one heart on Shavuot as they did, we will see the same results and be a part of experiencing the fulfillment of one of the most exciting End Times prophecies. When they prayed in one accord in Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit was poured out in Jerusalem. When we pray in one accord around the world, we will see the Holy Spirit poured out in every nation of the world. We therefore believe that this worldwide revival will follow the pattern of Acts 2 but will take place on a global scale and will usher in the return of Yeshua.
