Humanitarian Aid

Updated: Nov 27, 2023

The humanitarian issue in Gaza is a disaster. It is a moral issue that affects how people see the present war. It has also been an issue of much media manipulation and spins against Israel. Let’s look at a few issues:

  1. Qatar – Qatar gave billions of dollars to Hamas. It was labeled as humanitarian aid. Most of those billions went to building terrorist-military hatred and children’s indoctrination to hate Israel and support Jihadism.

  2. Western Aid – The UN, Europe and America also gave billions of dollars to Hamas. As above, most was not given to the people, but invested into radical jihadism, terror, and military.

  3. Iran – Iran also gave billions. With Iran perhaps it was not even labeled as humanitarian, but again, was primarily invested into Israel-hating militia.

  4. Disengagement – In 2005, Israel pulled all its citizens and residents out of Gaza, causing a traumatic forced evacuation to those 8000 people. Most of them have not recovered from the shock of displacement, even though they have resettled into other Israeli towns.

  5. Disengagement Farming Assets – When Israeli residents were forcibly removed from their homes in Gaza, they left farming infrastructure. None of it was used; all destroyed by Hamas.

  6. Disengagement Coastal Property - In addition, the beach front property in Gaza is worth fortunes. Gaza could have been the Riviera of the Middle East. However, this asset was not developed, because of focus on Jihad hatred.

  7. Jobs in Israel – One of the sources of constructive income for Gazans was working in Israel. Over 20,000 Gazans crossed into Israel every day to work and earn a salary. Unfortunately, some of those workers passed on to Hamas personal information about the Jewish families in the kibbutz communities, thus facilitating their murder.

  8. Egyptian Border – Gaza has a border with Egypt. Gazans could technically pass through the Rafiah crossing to leave Gaza. However, Egypt has kept the number limited, because they do not want destructive Jihadism from Gaza to grow in their country.

  9. All Arab Nations Closed – Not only Egypt has closed their borders, but all the Arab countries have refused to accept immigration from Gaza or assimilation of Palestinians into their countries. They believe that Gazan-Palestinian immigrants would cause them damage.

  10. War Initiation – The humanitarian issue for Gazans has been greatly exacerbated during the war. The war has caused a humanitarian disaster. Hamas started the war. Israel did not. Hamas wanted the war. Israel did not. Hamas caused the war, not Israel. Hamas and Jihad caused the humanitarian disaster of the war, not Israel.

  11. Human Shields – One of the worst humanitarian disasters of the war is Hamas holding its own citizens “hostage” as human shields. All the military infrastructure of Hamas is purposefully placed in civilian areas, against every rule of international law. The terrorists desire to get pictures of Israel hurting their citizens, in order to blame Israel.

  12. Maximum IDF Effort to Protect – Israeli Army policy is to do everything possible not to harm Gazan civilians, while Hamas does everything to keep their citizens in harm’s way. IDF works to protect our citizens. Hamas uses its citizens to protect their terrorists. IDF does more to protect Gazan citizens than Hamas.

  13. Humanitarian Corridor – Since the first day of the war, before the land incursion and during it, the Israeli army has issued directives to Gazan citizens to get out of the fighting area. Corridors of escape were open, particularly on the main Salah-el-Din road and the coastal road.

  14. Hamas Shooting at own Citizens – However, this corridor was only partly successful because Hamas shot at its own citizens. The desire to keep their citizens as shields motivated Hamas to shoot at them to keep them in the battle area, in order to accuse Israel.

  15. IDF Protection of Gazan Citizens – The humanitarian corridor became successful when the Israeli army arrived to protect the Gazan citizens. This created a bizarre situation of Israeli troops protecting Gazans passing through the humanitarian corridor, while Hamas was shooting at them.

  16. Hospitals, Schools, Aid Centers – Across Gaza, Israel has uncovered weapons storage, ammunition, war offices, and tunnel entrances in hospitals, children’s schools, and United Nations organizations. The use of hospitals as covering for the Hamas terrorism causes a humanitarian predicament.

  17. Shefaa Hospital – The largest hospital used as cover was Shefaa. Israel took a long time to gain control over the hospital. The terrorist infrastructure was exposed, including tunnels and holding areas for hostages. At the time of this writing, not one Shefaa doctor, nurse or patient was injured in the operation.

  18. South Gaza – Israel has allowed the southern part of Gaza at the time of this writing to be a safe zone. Medical facilities, food, water, camps have been allowed there. That situation may come to an end as the Hamas militants are fleeing to that area to regroup and rearm.

  19. Petroleum Provision – While causing much dissent within Israel, the Israeli government has allowed oil trucks to come into south Gaza from Egypt. This oil hopefully will be used to operate humanitarian efforts and sanitation facilities, thus protecting public health. The concern is that Hamas would take the oil to further their military operations.

  20. Hamas Oil Stockpile - This situation is also bizarre in that Hamas has stored up massive amounts of oil underground in their tunnel system. None of that is being released to help their citizens. So Israel, at risk, is facilitating oil supplies to Gazan citizens, while Hamas is not.

  21. Hostage Release – This is a complex subject which would require another longer explanation. The problem is that Hamas is manipulating the hostages negotiations to weaken Israel and to play on international public opinion. The cease fire gives them an opportunity to reorganize for further attacks. The release of 53 hostages could lead to the death of others.

  22. Hostages Illegal – The taking of women, children, and elderly as hostages is against international law. The raping and torturing of Israeli citizens by the terrorists is beyond description in any context of human moral standards.

  23. Hostages non-Proportional – Gilad Shalit was exchanged for 1027 Palestinian prisoners on October 11, 2011. One of those prisoners was Yehi Sinwar. While in Israel prison, he became sick and almost died, but was rescued by Israeli doctors. All discussion of “proportionality” is totally reversed when dealing with Israel.

  24. Displacement – One of the painful aspects of this current war is the large number of people who have had to evacuate their homes. The exact number is difficult to calculate, but it is easily over 1,000,000 Gazans, and 150,000 Israelis from the Gazan and Lebanese borders.

We are for humanitarian aid and against fake humanitarian aid projects that are primarily a cover up of terrorist activities. Let’s serve true humanitarian measures for the Palestinians. May the truth of Hamas travesties against humanitarian aid for the Palestinians be exposed.
